Tanglewood Crossroads Guitar Product Description
To create the Crossroads series, Tanglewood tasked luthier Michael Sanden with designing an instrument that would do justice to the legendary 1930s models.
Starting from the ground up, every cut of wood has been chosen after a meticulous process of elimination. Incorporating unique bracing patterns, the soundboards are designed to flex and respond to players with the utmost precision. No expense has been spared – even to the most minute of details – from the woods and construction methods applied, right down to the neck profile, bridge contouring, and fret inlays.
For the price, the Crossroad series of models offer outstanding value for money.
The TWCRD adopts the body shape of one of the most recognizable of all acoustics, the dreadnought.
The top is crafted using hand-selected genuine mahogany, which is paired with mahogany back and sides, resulting in a rich timbre that is infused with a warm character. As noted above, Sanden’s unique bracing pattern allows the soundboard to resonate freely, whilst preventing unwanted buckling or warping over time.
Fitted to the body is a solid and durable mahogany neck, which is shaped to a unique profile to facilitate comfort alongside stability. Married to the neck is a rosewood fingerboard, which is home 20-frets that are adorned with dot position inlays.
The Tanglewood Acoustic Guitar fingerboard ensures smooth transitions between frets, making it delightfully comfortable to perform on, as well as adding to the stunning overall finish.
The body is home to a rosewood bridge, which matches elegance with stability to ensure a solid anchor point for the strings.
Thanks to the superb partnership of hardware and construction across the guitar, intonation, and sustain is optimised for peerless performance at this price range.
Chrome die-cast tuning machines uphold tuning integrity dutifully throughout the most enthusiastic of performances.
